What's Cooking: 2011.2 Menu

January 14, 2011

Breakfast Dinner
Sunday Pancakes with yogurt and fruit New York strip steaks with sweet potatoes and green beans
Monday Cinnamon Oatmeal with fruit Chicken Pot Pies (perfect for leftover veggies)
Tuesday Cereal with whole milk and fruit Open for Interpretation :)
Wednesday Egg burritos with fruit Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and balsamic roasted asparagus
Thursday Cinnamon Oatmeal Beans! (and chheeeessseeee)
Friday Cereal with whole milk and fruit Country-style Chicken Kiev with dill carrots and potato wedges
Saturday Very blueberry muffins The Pioneer Woman's Asian Noodle Salad (this is something Rayah can eat, since it is more hearty than just lettuce)
* (Lunch is usually some variety of leftovers or sandwiches with fruit.)

** I always leave one night "Open to self-interpretation" to give us wiggle room for leftovers, eating out, and getting off schedule.

*** You've probably noticed we don't have traditional salads on this menu. I enjoy eating salad when dining out, but I don't fix it as a meal at home because our 16-month-old daughter can't chew the leaves yet. I'm assuming that we'll begin including it when her back teeth come in. My menu goal is to make one meal that all three of us can (and will!) enjoy.

Loving your menus. It's helping me get out of my what-to-make-for-dinner slump. Thank you soooo much!

Jenni, So happy to hear that! I was hoping that posting these menus would help others get new ideas...and they're also helping me try to be more creative in what I'm planning. I'm pretty sure Roger likes that I'm not feeding him the same thing over and over again, LOL. :)

Glad you'll be at Blissdom, I'll definitely keep an eye out for you. Sticking to a tighter grocery budgt and cooking more are very serious goals of mine in 2011... I could learn a lot from you, I'm sure of it!
