Perfect Pout
March 21, 2008
For at least a year now, Holly has been lauding her favorite lip gloss: CoverGirl LipSlicks in "Daring." She has written blogs about it and, when one sees a picture of her, is frequently asked about what type of gloss she's wearing. And every single time, it's the same lip gloss. It's the perfect shade, she says. And it seems everyone agrees with her.
Which is why I ducked into CVS to buy the gloss this morning on my way to work.
Now, let me say this: when I first saw it on the shelf, I thought it looked too dark. This can't be right, I thought, and then quickly reminded myself of how highly it has been recommended. So I grabbed one. Okay, fine, I grabbed two, but it's only because they are currently on sale BUY ONE GET ONE HALF-OFF. It was on faith, you see, that I bought two even though I was kind of worried that it was too dark for me and that it wouldn't be moisturizing enough.
I tore open the package as soon as I climbed back in my car, tilted the mirror toward myself, and swiped the stick over my lips.

I swear to you, my lips have never looked (or felt) so good. Things I love about CoverGirl LipSlick in "Daring":
1. Perfectly sheer
2. And yet, perfectly tinted
3. Moisturizing, like lip balm!
4. But not in a gloppy or waxy way
5. Only $4
6. But currently on sale, which means I paid only $3
To top it off, someone in the elevator asked me -- not five minutes later! -- what kind of lip gloss I was wearing. (And I think one man might have even winked at me.)
This lip gloss, it has magical powers. Had I only realized that the first time she mentioned it, I might have been Daring enough to buy the LipSlick sooner.

I'm sold! I'll have to stop by my CVS on the way home, too.

I usually stick with MAC, but if it is THAT good, I will have to try me some.
*Heads out to shop for new lipslick*

For the longest time, MAC lipglass (Viva La Glam) has been my favorite, too.
But more and more, I've found myself just wanting something simple, like a sheer lip balmy gloss, rather than a thick, sparkly gloss.
This LipSlick fits the bill perfectly.

Yup, I've got one in my purse right now. I hesitated to buy it because I'm pretty sure I wore it in high school (it was simply called "fushia" back then), but I'm glad to have it back in my make-up toolbox!

I hate to say it but I TOLD YOU SO.
Trust me, I haven't tried EVERY single lip gloss in Sephora, Target, and CVS for nothing! This is the one. This will always be the one! I'm starting a cult. Hurrah!

I hate all lipsticks and lipglosses because they make my lips all dry and cracked. Or all waxy and cracked. But always cracked. I've given up.

Lia, do you ever layer? Chapstick under lipgloss? It does wonders for me.
I am a lip gloss junkie. At any given moment, I have six lip glosses. Thanks to you, I have proof that this lipslick looks good, and it's only four bucks. You are my new best friend (who looks really good).

I am so gonna try this. I need a break from my usual (20 years+) tube of Revlon. And I freakin' love CVS. :)

OOooh thanks for the tip. I LOVE makeup tips. Especially ones where strangers MUST know my lipgloss color. ;-)

I think I told you this before, but when I was little I used to eat my sisters lip gloss. Once, I bit that little ball out of the tube and drank the contents. It tasted like Bubble Gum and I could not get enough of it!!!
Ahem... I also just saw this in your Google Ads.

I have to admit, after reading your post and Holly's...I had to try it. I bought some yesterday and at first I thought it was a little too dark, but it grew on me. I've added it to my collection - I'm a total lipgloss/chapstick junkie. I NEVER leave home without one.

CJSF - Yes, I've tried layering. It doesn't seem to help the situation. :( It'll be okay for the first five minutes, and then everything starts to peel.
But maybe I'll be brave and try again. Again.

I'm totally joining everyone else and buying this too. Yay!

So, Jes. I must say I have heard Holly wax poetic on this lipgloss but it was today when I saw your post that I was moved to go purchase this Daring lipslick business. I wanted it SO BAD and had to have it ASAP, so I told my boss I needed to run to Walgreen's to get some throat lozenges. I didn't come back with lozenges but I did come back with the HOTTEST LIPS EVER! Seriously. Thank you!
