What is it about sea salt and malt vinegar potato chips that makes me feel like I am sweating?

Weird! In high school, we used to take two salt & vinegar potato chips, sandwich an oreo cookie inbetween them, and then eat it. It sounds gross, and I suppose it kind of is, but the sweet & salty & briny actually kind of work.

3

um, because they make you stink?

4

I agree with JLR. Perhaps your body begins sweating to get rid of the salt as soon as you eat it, because you're brining yourself when you eat them?

5

I've never noticed any sweating going on from the chips -- probably because my sheer delight overshadows it.

6

Man I love those chips!

7

I ate a salt and vineger chip once. As soon as I chomped down on it I couldn't help but think that I was tasting something that could be very similar in taste to a certain female hygiene product that comes in a clear bottle with a special attachment. Know what I mean?

After that lovely thought entered my mind I never ate one of those chips again.

8

I only ate one once, too, and I thought my tongue was going to pickle. May as well have cut it off and stuck it in a glass jar and set it on a shelf to gather dust for the science exhibit.

I went to England for the first time in 1987, and ate them almost every day for a month. Came back to the States and went in to severe withdrawal from a lack of salt and vinegar "crisps". It was several years later before I was able to eat another one.

It's been awhile since I've eaten them, but I always enjoy them, besides - it brings back good memories.

Britain has some WEIRD chips (crisps) though.

Maybe I'll actually post about that.

It's not the chips... you ARE sweating. Oh, and I don't eat chips. I save my high-caloric intake for chocolate chip cookies!

11

What is it about salt & vinegar chips that makes me want to eat the entire bag in less than 10 minutes?

Figure that one out, will ya?

Ditto Heather B. Of course, I always thought the sweating was due to the fast & furious inhalation of the entire bag...
