Without a Trace

It may be ridiculously lame that I took this quiz, but it's the weekend. And for me, weekends call for laziness.
I've always been ridiculously proud of the fact that I have no accent. When I answered these questions today, it confirmed it for me only one thing: I should have been a telephone operator. My accent is that non-existent.
Someone? Want to hire me for voiceovers? Anyone?
| What American accent do you have? Your Result: The West Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta. | |

I took it for shits and giggles (I am not American, so HA! to you, stupid quiz!) but apparently I speak with a Northeastern accent.
Now, I'm freezing and must go to my cozy bed.

Hello, other accentless friend. I took the quiz and got the same results. Hmmm.

Me too. I'm the "lowest common denominator".
How insulting.

I scored the Midland - No Accent.....
Not surprisingly, everyone says I have no accent. Surprisingly, I was born in Canada and have lived in Texas and North Carolina....of all places, I should have developed an accent one of those...
I do develop an accent when I drink a little too much wine, though.

I evidently have a Midland accent. The last sentence of my results: "You have a good voice for TV and radio."
Maybe I should've stuck with the whole TV reporting thing ... (but just because you have the "right" accent doesn't mean you have the right voice)
And can I just say I think it's funny that all the accents are regions except for Boston and Philadelphia? Where did Philly come from? Why not the Bronx or Long Island, or even Wisconsin? Now THOSE are some accents!
Is it sad that I'm bummed my Southern accent results tied with Boston for second (and how is that possible)? (And yes, I'm sad because I wanted to have more of a Southern accent. I'm an Okie, dangit!)

One more reason to move to the NW, you already sound like us. And yes, I got The West when I took the test.
