Status: Mascara Running
November 10, 2006
I thought PMS struck just before a woman's menstrual cycle, but apparently mine strikes as early as two and a half weeks before. Because I'm sitting at work, sniffling and crying, throwing my half-eaten muffin into the trash can with such force that the thud sounds like a hard-bound dictionary dropping, and I have no idea why.
(Or, it may be related to the fact that I have no appetite and I've managed to grow two (two!) painful blemishes overnight. And, I'm quite confident that it has something to do with certain pressures at work, an impending move, a possible new career direction, and the accompanying strain this creates in our budget and marriage. But that's all.)
Sometimes I deal with stress by shopping. It can be for anything: clothes, food, fabulous shoes, fun jewelry, etc. So: what is the last thing you bought that you absolutely loved?

I got to your site via the NABLOPOMO randomizer. Thouroughly enjoyed looking through. I also live in the Dallas area. Good luck with the rest of the month!

Oh, poor you! That feeling is the worst.
My haircut is the last thing I bought and loved!
I recommend new pajamas. Those are great for making me feel better when I'm PMSy.

The upside to having a baby and nursing is I'll have no PMS for several months. The downside? I am just hormonal EVERY FREAKING DAY.
Hmmm...the last great thing I bought that I was so excited about was actually something my mom bought for me. A pretty iron kitchen utensils holder from Target. I get excited about anything from Target. Even Pampers.

LaShawn: Glad you stopped by!
GG: A haircut. I need a haircut. Pajamas. I could totally get used to wearing pajams to work instead of suits and high-heeled shoes. Can you go ahead and write a memo to my employer, please? If not, I'll just plan on wandering aimlessly in my pajamas tomorrow. If you see someone going down Main Street in hot pink leopard print, stop and give me a ride.
Jenn: I'm convinced my ceramic utensils holder has shrunk in the dishwasher. Yours is iron? And from Target? I love that store (though perhaps I don't get excited about Pampers. Yet.). Maybe I should head to the local SuperT after work today. That has the potential to be seriously therapeutic. (Or seriously expensive. Maybe I should just stick to the dollar bins.) ;)

FYI, you're not experiencing PMS- if you're having hormonal fluctuations approx 2- 2.5 weeks before your cycle, you're just ovulating.
Very normal. Actually, according to my dr, indicates a "high level of hormones conducing to pregnancy".
so anyway...
The last thing I bought & loved would be new Tommy stretch jeans in dark denim- so flattering and comfy!

I have the same problem... it seems like within 8 days of ending my period... PMS strikes... For the safety of small children and animals they should probably have me put down, lol... I can be brutal, hehe

Mine comes earlier, too. And after sometimes. Weird.
Can I just say it's funny how fast the mood and tone of this post changes? Classic PMS. lol
The last thing I bought that I truly loved? Well, I really love my Razor phone. But that's not as fun as the $20 jacket I got at the J. Crew outlet. I'm gonna go with that.
There are some good sales going on lately. This could be a good time for your retail therapy. Happy shopping!

The last thing I bought that I totally love is this http://www.alight.com/10112500.html shirt. It's sheer so I have to wear a black tank underneath, but I love the bell sleeves.
And *hugs* on the hormonal day - stupid stress :)

I absolutlely loved my iPod and my silver and blue Nike Air Zoom's that I wish I could find something similar.

My iPod, hands down. I just traded in some credit card score card points for some rockin headphones to replace the ear bud ones that came with it.
Also love my planet mom t-shirts.
And the FREE Dale and Thomas popcorn we just got.
Go to wantnot.net, get some shopping codes, and do some retail therapy.

Me: Which, really, you aren't me, but you are Me: I need new jeans. Interesting how everything listed so far is something I need. I need a new haircut. I need new pajamas. I need a new utensil holder. I need new jeans.
Katie: I know you love all things SuperT. If they remade Where the Heart Is, you'd totally be Novalee Nation. Except instead of having a Wal-Mart baby, you'd have a SuperT baby.
Tammy: Today? I need to be put down.
MLIB: A $20 JCrew jacket? I heart JCrew. Have you been to the Banana outlet up in Allen, TX? I heart that outlet even more.
kir: Ooooh la la. (My computer owns me, too. Should we start a recovery club?)
Jhianna: First, is that your real name? Or a made-up name? Because I love the name Jhianna, and I want to take it for myself. Second: you have good taste. I like that shirt!
eddo: Roger loves his iPod, too. Sometimes I steal it and play with it while he's gone. Shhh! Don't tell him. :)
CPA Mom: I'm glad to see others are addicted to WantNot. I'm often distracted by that site.
Piper: Do your hugs include Ben & Jerry's Phish food? Because if so, I need a few more hugs.

Oh, I'm so sorry. But I also highly, highly second the pajama rec from GG. it's really fun to lay around in cute PJs, especially while PMSing.

I recently bought this jacket from Gap. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6951&pid=413354
It's beige/tan with brown toggles, and I love it.

I think I lead a very happy and fulfilling life shopping only at Target for the rest of my days. *sigh* I heart that store. :)
Personally I think you should buy a soccer ball and you should kick it around with Roger. I bought one recently - at Target, of course - and Kyle and I have been kicking around like 10 year olds. I'm terrible and he's pretty fantastic... we have a blast.

Oh (wo)man, I feel you right now. And to make myself feel better, I've done a ton of shopping. But the last thing that I bought that I loved where a fantastic pair of black heels and like 7 henleys from Old Navy that were $3.50 each.
Happy PMSing! (Hate. Rage.)
