Reminiscing in a Cubicle: A Weekend in Pictures

October 03, 2006

This weekend I…

…learned that leaves actually do turn pretty colors (in Dallas they turn from green to brown – no pretty autumn colors)
…hiked through snow to the top of The Crags (near Pikes Peak)

…ate beans from a tin plate and fell in love with a fiddle

…had tea in a castle

…and determined (yet again) that GAH: I need to move out of Dallas. The rest of the world is just too beautiful.

Dallas just doesn't have quite the same scenery, does it? Of course, Colorado doesn't have Billy Bob's or ... what else does Texas have? =)

Those pictures are gorgeous.

2

I think I ate beans at that same place! It was 18 years ago, but is that the wild west town outside Colorado Springs? That was fun. Looks like a great trip. I understand why people live in Colorado.

Those pictures are gorgeous. So you're moving out of Dallas? To COLORADO? Can I come too?

(I'm totally hoping K gets stationed in Colorado next so we can move there!)

5

MLIB: I want to move out of Dallas. But I haven't. Yet. Obviously. :(

6

Gorgeous pics!!! Holy cow, that last one took my breath away.

Thank you for the eye hugs.

7

Love those pictures. I can't wait for the leaves to change color here.

8

Oh my God Jes. These are GORGEOUS!

9

OK, the FlyingW photo looks like a hoot. Were you decked out in western wear?

10

I will be the one to say that if you moved out of Dallas you might miss it.

*dodges tin plate flying through air*

I'm just sayin'. :)

The pictures were beautiful, especially the top one. It reminds me of North West Arkansas.

Those pictures are so beautiful it hurts. Did you take them? You should make up a coffee table book! LOL. Seriously, thanks for the lift. Did you have fun? Where did you eat the beans? I'm always on the look out for a fun vacation place.

12

Beautiful! I love those pictures!
Looks like you had a great time! Welcome back.

13

Like the first and last pictures the best. I was born in Colorado... Does that make me cool? :)

14

also... when you click on the "castle" link and look at that picture... are there 2 guys standing on top of the chimney? How did they get up there and what are they doing?

15

Wowza. BEAUTIMOUS pics Jes. I love Colorado. Cat lived there for a year, and she loved it except for the cold. The cold tends to get people eventually. But my, oh my is it beautimous. Are those Aspens that are yellow?

I need to go to Colorado!!!

Is the Crags the same as Garden of the Gods? B/C that looks like the pic I have on my desktop from our April trip.

I love your pics. I REALLY do.

16

Puuuuuurrrtaaaaaayyyy.

17

WOW!!!

Looks like a great trip!

18

SHUT UP! Did you really take all of those? If so, I am SUMO jealous. That is amazing.

And everyone knows that about cockroaches... okay, maybe not everyone, but I did.

19

Gorgeous photos! Glad you had a good weekend. I used to live in Colorado, and I loved it. Hope you get that opportunity someday.
