Suri Cruise needs a new hairstylist, pronto!

September 20, 2006

For a while, everyone was buzzing about Suri Cruise and whether or not she existed. I really don't care whether she exists, or whether she is really Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' baby.

Talk has died down a bit, but I can stay silent no longer.

What I care about is this baby's hair.

Is she wearing a wig? And, why? I understand that some babies are born with lots of hair. I was one of them. I looked like a monkey when I was born, what with my two-and-a-half inch afro. But my hair was all one color, and obviously coming out of my head. I'm not so convinced by Suri's style.

Suri Cruise...Well, I just don't understand. Why is her hair styled in a near-90° angle? And what is that little bit of brown hair against featured just in front of her backdrop of jetblack strands? Is it a birthmark?

(Or, like I presume, perhaps Suri's toupee - inspired a la Donald Trump - is merely slipping off her head.)

I have stared at that picture and I just don't get it. I have NEVER seen a baby with that much hair. Ever. To me, it looks like when you have a baby on your lap and you put your own hair over their head? You know? I find it odd. She was only 3 months old when those were taken. 3 months! And her hair is like a foot long!

Although if any of them need a hair makeover lately, it's Daddy Cruise himself. Yowzas.

2

You're so observant, Jes! I've seen babies with that kind of hair, but I've never studied it in detail.

Why, pray tell, are you studying poor Suri's hair?

3

I'm mesmerized by the whole thing.

4

I can't help it. I'm like a freak of nature. It's actually the FIRST THING I noticed when I saw baby Suri's picture, and I've been obsessed ever since.

I don't understand why nobody else (nobody else = the media) hasn't addressed it before. I can't be the only one to wonder about it.

Is there something I don't know about having babies? Like, maybe they have odd parts and unevenly colored hair and I'm really just being insensitive because maybe it's just normal?

5

Hm.

You're right Jes. It looks like a Toupee.

6

I think Suri is absolutely gorgeous! The pic of her on Katie's stomach, when Suri is looking right into the camera...I think she's so beautiful!

One of my first thougths was, "I want to babysit you [Suri]!" She's so cute to look at!

7

Well....THE RUMOR is that she is Chris Klein's and not Tom's. That she's OLDER than we all think because Katie found out she was preggo in April dating Tom after breaking up with Chris in March. How's that for a tasty tidbit that makes no difference whatsoever in the rest of our lives?

And babies' hair color changes, much more evident when they have lots of hair.

Still a freakshow. Poor Suri.

I have that Vanity Fair but I haven't looked at it yet. The baby looks a lot like Tom, but I just don't know about that hair. I agree, that light brown bit at the part looks like the real hair, and the black hair looks fake. But who knows.

9

I would have preferred a huge Bootsy Collins fro.

10

My nephew had that much hair when he was born, and he got even more as he grew. I don't think this is fake. Besides, I'm sure that IF the child were wearing a wig or toupee, Tom and Katie would make sure that it wasn't crooked in the pics.

Re: Multi colored hair - I keep the nursery at my church and there was a little girl who was born with really dark hair and as it grew in, it was more light brown. Her mother used to cut it as it grew, so the dark part would go away and the kid didn't look like she had a bad dye job. So it's possible, especially if all the hair she was born with didn't ever fall out.

12

I was bald FOR-EV-ER.

Seriously, I think I started to grow hair (that wasn't peach-fuz) around age 5 or 6.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Has nothing to do with Suri, really. I'm just still upset about it.

13

I was fascinated by it too. That is a LOT OF HAIR. And that hairline you illustrate? I have a friend with that baby hair hairline, so it didn't even strike me as odd, but the VOLUME was astounding.

I think she's adorable otherwise. And holy hannah, she looks like Tom.

14

That is so not their baby. I'd love to see the DNA results. lol

15

There was some gossip site that did a whole group of pictures and noticed that right when the baby would have been due if she was pregnant with Chris Kleins baby she kind of disappeared and then right before Suri was "born" she was all over the place, shopping mostly and her belly looked way too much like a beachball, and her posture changed- when you have the big belly your center of balance has to shift- and she was wandering around standing as if there was no belly there at all. Its just weird

16

Hair?? who cares about the hair? Anyone notice she does not look like either of 'em??

and really... who cares anyway? I guess I'm just not that into celebrity "news" just find it amusing that you posted about the hair, pretty funny observation!

BTW my friend had a baby that was covered in hair all over when he was born... he looked like a cuddly cute werewolf. He's 6 now and quite normal. I'm sure Suri will grow out of her bad hair phase rather quickly.

geesh, I've spent way to much time on this already!! help me!

17

It looks like real hair to me.. But I will admit most babies don't have that much hair at 3 months old. She's lucky I suppose. I'm sure when she's 13 she'll be complaining about how much she hates her hair, lolol

18

suri with a fringe on top .....seriously that's what i think of when i hear her name. but.........as much as i can't stand tom, i think she's a beautiful baby.
