"Bashura is Asian for "trash"."

Two thoughts:
1. Basura is Spanish for "trash."
2. Asian is not a language.

I have a friend who would call people 'oriental' and would be dead serious when she said it. This is an educated person who is a kindergarten teacher. It pissed me off to no end and thankfully I've talked her out of doing it and when ever she starts to say it, I give her a knowing glance. Anyway, people can be quite ignorant. Most are in dire need of a swift kick in the pants.

Hilarious on several levels. Makes me wonder just how trashy (basura-y in Asian) the speaker was him- or herself.

3

Oh, my. Don't you love when people act as if they know what they're talking about when they very clearly don't?

4

ha ha ha! Oh, sad.

5

Excellent.

6

Idiots, but I'm really curious to know the backstory of their conversation. Wuh?

Also:

Chirky is still upset because no one ever answered her burning childhood question: "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?"

7

You know that big country over there, Asia, where they all speak Asian? Hilarious.

Note to Heather B. - one of my friends has one Korean parent, one Chinese. He said "I didn't KNOW we weren't Oriental for the longest time. We used to be Oriental, then suddenly we were Asian. Somebody finally had to correct me." So it is a fairly recent development - cut them some slack, I think.

8

Wow. Just wow.

9

heh

10

This is awesome.

11

Hurry, sign them up for a reality TV show~!

12

Don't mess with Texas.

13

Love it.

If I had a nickel for everytime I had to tell my mom that Asian people don't like to be called "Orientals" I'd have at least 85 cents.
