Annoy Me

July 21, 2006

How to annoy me:

Look over my cubicle wall as you walk by, and comment about whatever I'm doing (or not doing) on my computer.

Cubicles walls are six feet tall for a reason: a ludicrous attempt at privacy.

I am tall and so I can do that easily - and sometimes I do, but only with people that I know really well... I mean, if I worked at your work you wouldn't mind if I poked my head over to say "hi" would you? If you would, then I would be concerned that you were doing something that you shoulnd't be at work.

Eddo,

Of course I wouldn't mind if it was YOU. But other people? Other random people I work with and don't want to expose my blog to?

No. Way.

3

hmmm i'm thinking barb wire at the top would help that out

4

I hate that. Hate it. Even if I'm doing my work like a good drone, I hate being looked at. It's ridiculous. I always minimize everything, no matter what. EVERYTHING.

5

Get one of those screen shield thingies. I had to when I worked. Ahh, yes, working with adults. Seems so long ago. And yet not unlike caring for a toddler in a many ways. :)

I love how we develop all these little psychological ruses at work due to cube culture, like pretending we don't know exactly what everyone around us is doing.

7

If I ever worked in a cube, I think I would shrivel up and die. Poor, poor Jes! ;-)

8

I HATED that. But in the last several weeks before I quit, I stopped caring. You want me to work? Give me something to DOOOOOOOOOO.
