It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

May 08, 2006

Today, while reluctantly driving back to work after lunch, I noticed a dark maroon sign hanging from a building off of the highway. The sign was enormous, and when I read it, I nearly began hyperventilating like an 8th grader before asking a boy to the Sadie Hawkins dance.

It read:

That's, like, better than Crate and Barrel.

Unfortunately, I don't think our pocketbook can handle the phrase, "I'll take two of everything."

Wait, I'm confused. Is that West Elm street? A store named West Elm? A shopping center called West Elm?

I'm a loser, don't mind me.

2

Oh, JCol.

WEST ELM

It's opening in Mockingbird Station.

It's the best. store. ever.

3

Never heard of it.

Such weird stores in Tejas

4

You're jerkin my chain right?

Cause that's just totally awesome.

5

REALLY? Oh gosh, and I was able to just look at the magazine and pretend, now I can go to the store and pretend and then be tempted with purchasing.

*returns from West Elm website with her tail tucked*

Thanks for the link, I admit, I've never heard of it obviously. Maybe my home isn't modern enough for it. But it's only 11 mos. old. Different kind of modern though.

Umm... I was going back and forth whether to move to Dallas or Austin in June and I would like to thank you for making my decision for me. How can I not move to place where they have a West Elm. Heaven.

8

Pottery Barn is still my fav.

9

I've never heard of West Elm! Fascinating. Now I want one.
