It would have to be completely airtight, though.

March 20, 2006

In college, I chose to major in Criminal Justice, Business, Undeclared, English, English with a minor in Spanish, English, English specializing in Technical Writing. Really, it's a wonder that I made it out in only six years. Ironically, when choosing a major, and considering the amount of time I spent in college, I didn't focus on what my career afterward would entail. I only focused on what I thought would I would enjoy: technical writing! editing! traveling! What? You mean that as soon as I graduate, I won't be hired as a world-traveling journalist?

Naturally, anytime I am in a different city, I wonder whether I would enjoy living in that city. My mind naturally wanders from there, fantasizing about what I would do for a career, where I would live, whether my family would be happy there.

When we were in Costa Rica, I imagined to myself that I would love to live on the peninsula where we were staying. It would have required a Hotel Restaurant Management Degree, but! Free food! Free hotel rooms! AND it was the Four Seasons. I'd work there as a housekeeper if meant I got to travel the world, staying for free at the Four Season resorts. Of course, if I took a position on the housekeeping staff I probably wouldn't be able to afford to travel the world, because I doubt the Four Seasons compensates its custodial staff with a six-figure income. (However, it is entirely possible that I could supplement my income by contracting to sell marine electronics. This would allow me to always have the latest, most up-to-date GPS systems, which I would TOTALLY need if I lived in Costa Rica, because of the hiking. And sailing. And surfing. Though for the latter two, I'd need a completely submergible, waterproof system. Or, a ziploc bag.)

This would be me.

I would say that English degree is coming in handy now.

2

yes, heather, you would think. i'm still not convinced. I think i need another degree. except, i don't want to put forth the energy to get it.

I'm lovin' it- Blogitive is abotu 800 times better than Adbrite or Google Ads. I have made 35 bucks so far and if all goes well I should have 60 before the day is over. Don't you wish that now you had a bunch of different blogs that you could write stuff on? I mean, really, it LITERALLY PAYS to have 6 blogs.

Now I plan to get drunken fiction up and running tonight and so that will be another blog to use and how perfect, because a lot of this stuff will come across as drunken anyway.

Thanks for the tip, where did you find blogitive anyway?

4

sooooo, lemme just get this straight.... are most of your future posts going to have links to random sites because of this blogitive thing?

when your readers click on the links, you get paid? money?

so technically, blogging is your side job?

5

That's gotta hurt.

It seems this ad thing is getting your posts up faster that you can say "increase my bank acct". Way to go Jes. Whatever motivates you.

6

Nope, I don't get paid for clicks. I get paid for putting the links in. I'm already over $100. Wheeeee!!!

But, if you wanted to click on the links, I wouldn't stop you.

7

So I have been wasting my time Clicking??? I don't have too! Sad!!! Ohh Well. Good now I can just read...

8

Holly, you're such a good friend. Thank you for clicking! :)

Also, I AM SO TOTALLY NOT CONVINCED YOU AND I WERE AT SFA AT THE SAME TIME. I looked in the SFA yearbook, and I couldn't find you!

I did, however, find Amanda Sue.

I Started at Stephen F in August 1996 and Left there in December 2000 I was there a lot longer then you honey. If I remember correctly they managed to not get me in the yearbook that year.... I think I missed the pictures, had more important things to do.....

Hey What happened to Bianca's Blog???

11

No doubts that you were there longer, since I specifically recall leaving after one year. But I did wonder why you weren't in the book.

Bianca has taken her blog down for reconstruction.
