It's a hard-knock life...for me!

April 08, 2005

Thursday morning I left my home at 7am, a time when I am normally trying to
force myself awake enough to stumble out of bed, and drove to Las Colinas. I
stayed in Las Colinas at my business meetings until 8:00 pm, whereupon I drove
home, kissed my husband, and immediately crawled in bed so that I could wake up
this morning and do it all over again.

Except I wouldn't be doing it ALL over again, because how boring would that be
to go to the exact same meetings two days in a row? Instead, we had short
informal sessions, which I discovered after I attended both that neither had
anything to do with my job, and oh-by-the-way, didn't you know that you could
have just shown up afterward?

Oh? You mean to tell me that you are JUST NOW TELLING ME that I could have slept
in until 10 if I had wanted, THEN driven out here for one meeting? And lunch? By
the pool? And free strawberry daiquiris?

Hmm. Thanks for telling me NOW, baboon.

At least I got the lunch, by the pool, with the strawberry daiquiris and free
massages at the secluded Four Seasons Resort and Spa. And then, I got to leave.
Early.

It's a rough life, but somebody has to endure it.
