Admission: I can be clueless too.

April 11, 2005

Bianca stayed with us this weekend. It is always a special treat when Bianca
comes in town, because it is almost like we are roommates again. Except I go to
bed with my husband, and Bianca and I sleep in separate rooms. I'm sure she is
very thankful for that.

We ran around together nearly the whole weekend, sometimes with Roger and
sometimes without. We made strawberry jam, and celebrated birthdays with my
family, and hung out at the lake, and visited Rick's first gallery show, and
much more.

On Friday evening, Bianca carried nearly all my groceries from Sam's up the
stairs, and didn't complain more than six times. In fact, she only gave me "the
look" twice. Once when I appeared at the top of the stairs to take her picture,
and a second time when I started walking back up the stairs, carrying only the
camera, without offering to help her with everything she was carrying.

Oops.

On Saturday evening, Bianca waited for me in the lobby of her dorm for nearly an
hour while I finished watching Bend It Like Beckham with Katie. I didn't realize
that we had that much left in the movie. And I didn't call Bianca until I was
parked in front of her dorm to let her know that I was running a little late.
Must have been that strawberry margarita that I had three hours earlier.

Oops.

On Sunday, Roger and I left early to hang out in Fort Worth, wander around the
arts festival, and go to the last performance of Swan Lake at the Bass Hall. (It
was WONDERFUL!) We encouraged Bianca to stay the day and relax while we were
gone, because who doesn't need a day to recuperate after spending all their
waking hours with me??? Personally, I believe that is why Roger is beginning to
gray prematurely.

Sorry, sweetie pie.
