Chopping

February 21, 2005

My hair? MY HAIR? Yeah. Let me tell you about. my. hair.

It was more of a counseling session than a haircut. Have you ever had hair therapy?

WE WERE THERE FOR THREE HOURS. TALKING. ABOUT MY HAIR.

Kris, my stylist, sat on the sofa knitting a tube scarf while I explained my frustrations, and while I vented about my hair, and EVEN WHILE I CRIED because of my confusion over not knowing what to do with it. Do you cry about your hair? Is it just me?

I listened while Kris told me how great my hair was, and how he wished it was his own, and about his two dreams and waking up in a cold sweat, which eventually told him when he should cut all his hair off. I just kinda stared at him after that, because: what?

Instead of making a rash decision to chop it all off at once, I tried to sit, and be calm, and to analyze my situation, to listen to my voice of reason (in the form of my stylist).

Kris gave me tons of new styling tips, again. And he discussed with me the importance of mane-taming my hair (get it? maintaining? mane-taming? HA!) and how to style it in a way that causes minimal damage to my hair. He taught me how to use certain products, and has given me "order" for my morning routine.

My tresses are now just three inches past my shoulders. Kris chopped off probably 4-5 inches. I feel healthier, and more stylish, and I love my hair. For now. (Ummm, two months from now, when I start complaining about it again, will you remind me to go get a haircut? I tend to forget about this thing called "maintenance.")

congrats on surviving the haircut. Make sure Roger knows what the signs of post-traumatic stress syndrome are just in case. :)

actually, he is already well acquainted with PTSD. i already suffer from it.

my hair woes are no comparison to the real deal.

BY THE WAY. ALSO, Today we went to visit the jeweler where Roger had my engagement/wedding rings made. We were originally there because they made me a Fabulous! nose pin.

While we were there, they checked my ring. OH. MY. FREAK. OUT. i took it off, and the lady held it up to her ear and shook it. YOU COULD HEAR THE DIAMOND SHAKING IN MY RING. IT WAS THAT LOOSE. So they fixed the prongs, and cleaned it for me, and my ring is SO SHINY.

it hasn't been this shiny since Roger first proposed!! i mean, people, I'M BLINDING MYSELF AT WORK!!!

Someone get me some sunglasses!

I love it when I clean my rings! It's so much fun! :) It's a good thing they tightened everything up so you didn't lose your diamond. If you want a good cleaner to use at home, go with GemGlo - it is SUPER! So good that my mom makes me get her it too. It's made in Dallas and it's the best ever! Makes everything look sparkly and new. www.gemglo.com :) Oh and by the way, I saw Jes' hair on Saturday night after her traumatic event, so I can attest to the fact that it looks AWESOME!

ahhh...thank you, mel!! :)

you know, every time i read the word "gemglo" in your comment, i read to myself, "glemglo" and sounded so weird and gross. like some sort of trinket a troll would have on a SciFi computer game.

i'm glad to know the name of the company is GemGlo and not GlemGlo. that makes me feel better about the products you are suggesting i use. :)
